Vision

To bring about improvement to the lives of the needy and disadvantaged in Singapore

Mission

Help alleviate the plight of the needy and create opportunities for the underprivileged to better their lives and build a future for themselves

The Progress Singapore Community Fund (PSCF) was set up in Sepember 2021 by Francis Yuen and other like-minded Singaporeans.  We seek to bring about improvement to the lives of the needy and disadvantaged in our community by effectively harnessing the ideas, energies and resources of fellow Singaporeans. We believe the range of activities we undertake for the community will grow as we evolve.

Since its inception, we have undertaken several modest initiatives to address the gaps we identified in our community.

For example, in 2021 our fund gave out a total of 2000 food packages/vouchers to some 400 HDB households .

Gaps in the Community

Home and Nursing Care

There is a growing number of seniors as our society ages. Some live alone without dependents or care givers to keep an eye on them. We hope to set up a system for volunteers to visit them on a regular basis. With sufficient funds, we hope to set up a training center with programmes for volunteers to effectively help meet their needs.

Education Bursary for Children of Disadvantaged Households

Raising a child can be particularly challenging, especially for those born into disadvantaged households. To address this, we aim to identify 40 young children from these homes and provide support for their educational expenses through an annual bursary ranging from $200 to $400.

Home Transformation

We know of multi-generational families living in cramped conditions under one roof. Wouldn’t it be nice to do a “makeover” for their flat, engaging external help to creatively improve their home environs?
